Thanks to Cleared Solutions, Debi and I treated our husbands to a night out - on the farm!
We chose a beautiful Saturday evening to leave our offspring at home and enjoy a culinary refuge in Loudoun County. Since casual dress was a must - but good food a requirement, we ventured to Purcelville, VA and Grandale Farm. Between the extensive Virginia wine list and beautiful backdrop of the Shenandoah Mountains, we shared a wonderful meal featuring fine cuisine made from the historic operating farm. I must admit, Debi and I pondered holding onto our gift certificates for a future spa treatment...but handed them to the waiter in the end. Thanks - the evening was delightful, as was the company.
I used my card at Zaytinya, an excellent Mediterranean style restaurant that's part of chef Jose Andres' Think Food Group. They serve small plates, or meza, that are a perfect size to share with others at your table. The food was delicious, and though I don't recall every dish that we ordered, I know we had lamb, crab cakes, squid, and octopus. They were all excellent.
